City of Sunderland Swimmers Represent Northumberland and Durham County Team in the National County Championships
Congratulations to all swimmers who represented the Northumberland and Durham Team in the National County Championships which took place on Sunday 19th October 2008 at Ponds Forge, Sheffield.
The Northumberland and Durham Team narrowly missed out on the title which was won by Lancashire with 480 points Northumberland and Durham was second with 476 points.
City of Sunderland ASC had five swimmers representing their County, Phoebe Lenderyou 13, Kathryn Woolston-Thomas 13, Jonathan Carlisle 16, Lorna Breeze 16 and Sarah Gibson 17, all swimming individual and team events. Welcome to the City of Sunderland Amateur Swimming Club website.
We are based at the Sunderland Aquatic centre. Our mission is to be the Swimming Club of
choice for all communities in the Sunderland and surrounding area.
The Club aim to provide opportunities for Long Term Athlete Development
and encourages members to obtain qualifications in teaching and coaching,
attend other sport related courses, and for non-swimming members to
qualify as ASA Officials.
The Club is primarily a competitive club and members of all ages are
encouraged to participate in swimming or swimming related competitive
activities such as water polo, diving, triathlon and synchronized swimming.
The Club also recognise that swimming regularly is part of a healthy
lifestyle and we will provide opportunities for non-competitive, but coached
swimming sessions to be available.
