Sunderland’s swimmers were successful in the relay events finishing 2nd in the freestyle canon (8 x 50m) and 3rd in the medley canon (8 x 50m). In the 13 and over age group the girls teams finished 1st and 3rd in the 4 x 100m freestyle relay and finished 2nd and 3rd in the 4 x 100m medley relay while the boys finished 2nd in the 4 x 100m medley relay. In the 12 and under age group Sunderland’s girls finished 4th in the 4 x 50m freestyle and 5th in the 4 x 50m medley relay.

As a competitive club it was really encouraging to see so many of Sunderland’s swimmers, particularly from the Junior Squads, taking part and while it is sadly impractical to mention every swimmer, all produced their season’s best at this meet and it’s great to see them always moving forwards, putting themselves in a strong starting position for the next season.

Many thanks to Fiona Barnes who took these lovely images.
