AGM procedure and deadlines

  • The AGM will take place as planned on Friday 6th December 2013.

The aim of the AGM is to give an overview of things that have happened over the last year. There are various items to go through at the meeting, and I have no doubt there will be questions about the information presented.  It is therefore important that if anyone has a question related to club activities, they email it to me by tomorrow evening, (Friday 29th November 2013) so it can be included as an Agenda item.

  • The closing date for committee nominations is the evening of Friday 28th November 2013.

City of Sunderland ASC (CIC) is a club that pays many of its coaches but is managed by volunteers.  The club therefore requires as many people as possible to offer support in a wide range of roles.  The more parents or club friends we have as volunteers, the more the workload is spread and the easier it gets for everyone.

You can help by stepping to one of a range of committee positions or by volunteering in many other support roles.

Anyone who wishes to take on a committee role should email me at chair@cityofsunderlandasc.co.uk with the following information:

Minimum information required

  •          Name of nominee
  •          Name of any swimmer/s in the club and the respective squad/s
  •          One paragraph outlining who they are and how they think they can help

For those who are currently in committee positions and I have indicated on the poster as willing to continue in the role, it is also important I receive this information to provide the membership with the opportunity to raise objections.

  • The deadline for objections is 6pm Tuesday 4th December.  Any objections should be sent to me with a valid reason for the objection.

In the event that anyone has an objection to me continuing as club Chairperson, please see Danny Thompson to get the email address of the Club president, Ian Wilson.  He will be able to respond to any such objection impartially.

Objections will not be taken at the AGM.
Should some positions not filled during this process, the newly appointed committee members will agree a strategy to move forward with volunteer recruitment.

I look forward to seeing you all at the AGM, and if there is anything you would like to talk about, just catch me at the pool or send an email.
