Club Volunteers

If you can you help with either of the following roles we would love to hear from you:

Club Record Administrator

The purpose of this role is to keep the club records page on the website up to date.  There is little work involved!  The onus is on the swimmer or their parent or guardian to claim a new record by completing an online form on the COSASC website.  The administrator just needs to check the claim against the gala results or the British Swimming Rankings database and update the website with the new fastest swim.

Gala Reporting

Volunteers are required to write gala reports for competitive events attended by the club.  This can reach 30 or 40 events a year ranging from the shrimp meets and Diddy League events through to the Paralympics!  This is a lot of work for one person and so ideally a team of budding journalists is needed.  Perhaps one person could write reports for the Junior Swimmers, someone else write the Performance reports etc.  The reports are always easier to write if the author can attend the event but it is perfectly acceptable to write the report based on the gala results.  The reports are posted on the club’s website and issued to local media.  No previous experience necessary!

If you are interested in either role please provide your name and contact details to your Squad Manager or to me, Ann Rogers: secretary@cityofsunderlandasc.co.uk

These are really valuable roles that help promote the achievements of the club and its swimmers and both roles need filling ASAP.
