Team Spirit

It has been a dream week for COSASC at the British Summer Championships with great swims from all our swimmers (British Records, medals, club records, PBs). However it is not only our competitors who are doing the club proud, but the swimmers, coaches and parents/carers and COSASC members who are all showing their support both in Sheffield, on Social Media and here in Sunderland.

While most swimming events are individual the club works hard to foster a positive team ethos at all levels whether in training or in competition. The photos below, kindly provided by Mike Wylie, sum up the excellent team spirit and support that helps to set our club apart from the rest and it can only help to improve overall performances.

The club’s generous support doesn’t go unnoticed either with several supporting tweets, notably those by Jay Manners, read out at the championships and commentators remarking on the great support for Sunderland.

The British Summer Championships is drawing to a close tonight (look out for Freya and Rachel in action in the 50m freestyle and 100m breaststroke finals) but there is still much to look forward to with the British Open Water Championships taking place tomorrow with Lucy Ellis, Amy Henshaw, and Zak Logue taking part followed by the ASA Summer Championships which start on Tuesday where Emma Cassell, Mason Jacques, Zak Logue, Gareth Orr, Freya Rayner, Rachel Taylor and the girls 4 x 200m freestyle relay team are all competing. So keep those media posts and tweets coming and don’t forget to check out the live results and streams.

Full reports to follow.
