Volunteer Vacancies

The roles of Meet Manager and Work Force Manager have recently become vacant and these important roles need to be filled quickly as the next home gala is in early January.  If you are interested in either role or would like to find out a bit more about what is involved please contact me at: secretary@cityofsunderlandasc.co.uk or your Squad Manager.

Meet Manager

This is a role that can be done by an individual but lends itself well to a small team of people.  It is essentially a co-ordination and organisational role in the lead up to a home gala to ensure that everything that is needed for the gala is in place e.g. water and food has been ordered for the workforce team, medals are available etc.  The meet manager also ensures that all non-official roles required for the gala are filled e.g. entrance desk volunteers, fund raising volunteers, marshals, runners etc.   The Meet Manager also provides the point of contact on the day of the gala should any official or visiting clubs have a query.

Workforce Manager

Again this role can be done by an individual or ideally by a small team of people.  The purpose of the role is to ensure that there are sufficient officials available to run the meet and also to encourage club volunteers to undertake their Judge 1 training and training for other gala roles so that the club has as many qualified officials as possible.

Both roles form part of the club’s Gala Committee.  The committee meet regularly in the lead up to a home meet.  Good organisational and people skills are needed for each role.
