Good News & Congratulations

Dear Members,

I would like to share with you the following “good news stories” as well as collectively congratulating a number of our clubs swimmers who have been selected for the following programmes.

Swim England National Programme for 2020:

Unfortunately it is not possible to hold face to face training camps at present therefore they have adapted their programme to ensure those selected have a range of informative resources available to them to access, watch, listen to and learn from. Those selected Sunderland swimmers are:

Jacob Barnett

Luke McGee

Helena Wyness

Swim England North East Region – Virtual Swimming Performance Programme for 2020:

Again it’s unfortunate that they cannot hold face to face training camps however they also have made a range of informative resources available to those selected athletes to access, watch, listen to and learn from. Those selected Sunderland swimmers are:

Katie Blunt

Matthew Dey

Yanaika Roberts

The aim is for all those athletes named above to be provided with an informative, positive and rewarding experience from these programmes which can be used as a stepping-stone to progress and develop their swimming career.

TASS Apprenticeship Scheme:

This is supporting swimmers at the top of the England Talent Pathway, TASS help to provide selected athletes with the support they need to allow them to pursue higher and further education opportunities alongside their sport, to meet their potential in both. The Sunderland swimmer is:

Caitlin Cambrook

I am sure all of these athletes are proud and excited to be selected, I am sure the whole club would like to join with me to wish all our Sunderland athletes a huge congratulates!! We hope these opportunities enable you to become the best you can be.

Finally our discussions are progressing with Everyone Active around returning to the Aquatics Centre in early November , you will all receive further communications around the commencement of training programmes by the end of this month.

Kindest Regards

Linda
