Afternoon Members,
I have been asked to send some communications out to the club due to a number of reports over the last few weeks where Everyone Active have seen an increased amount of cars parking down the side of the building for pickups. Everyone Active (EA) note that these cars are parked in a dangerous position and are causing a major Health & Safety issue for adults and children trying to cross the road as it is very hard to see past these cars and other cars having to drive up the wrong side of the road to get past.
Last night it was reported that there were 5 cars parked in a row and a customer emailed a picture of this and a letter of complaint to EA Manager. They have also sent the complaint to the Beacon of Light and the Council’s Parking Department. EA Management have noted they will be placing a strongly worded post on their Facebook page today therefore has asked that I contact all parents to make you all aware of this issue. EA have instructed their Duty Managers to challenge as many people parking in this manner as possible to prevent this in the future.
We all really need to stop this practice before someone is injured – thanks and any problems or questions please contact me. Therefore can I ask that parents part in the main car park and collect their athletes from the Main Entrance and ensure you are on time to collect them. If there is any child who needs assistance or supervision in the changing areas as per previous communications those parents are permitted to enter the changing areas at the end of training sessions to help them and ensure they leave the building safely. Wherever possible we try to ensure someone is around to see that the younger squads leave the building but this isn’t always possible so please ensure you arrive on time to collect and as noted if you need to enter the changing areas to see they safely exit the building then please do so.
Finally for your information there will be SAFC Stewards in operation all day this Saturday to manage the car parking situation as there is a match on. Aquatic Centre users will be allowed to use the GREEN Car Park up to 1pm (last entry at 12noon). After 12noon you will be directed to use the far end of the BLUE Car Park.
