Hi Everyone
There is an opportunity for parents to receive training to become a licensed J1 official.
If we can put together a group of minimum 10 parents who would be willing to take the course, then training will take place at the Aquatic Centre. Dates are TBC, but we will try to arrange them for times when your children will be in the pool.
The training is free and consists of 3 two hour sessions in one of the meeting rooms. You will then be mentored at any galas that you are able to attend until you are signed off. Mentoring sessions will involve an official helping you become qualified, including timekeeping and how to recognise and deal with DQs.
Becoming a qualified official will allow you to enjoy your child’s swimming from another perspective, as well as getting you away from the hot and overcrowded spectator seats!
