City of Sunderland ASC swimmers Matthew Wylie and Jennifer Tatters ‘crossed the road’ to attend the 19th Sunderland Young Achievers Event held at the Sunderland Stadium of Light, where they were both nominated in the ‘Sport 15 to 20 years age group.’
Matthew was voted overall winner for his performances in the S9 Multi Disability events, where his impressive successes include breaking the British record time in the 400m Individual Medley and the IPC World record time in the 1500m Freestyle event.
A delighted Matthew said, ‘I’m really happy I won. I wasn’t sure if I was going to win but I thought I had a chance.’
Team mate Jennifer Tatters was ‘Highly Commended’ in the ‘Sport 15 to 20 years category.’
