The Third Race Skills Session is Based on Developing our Finishes.
There is nothing worse than swimming the perfect race for your team, then getting to your finish and being touched out due to the last 5 metres or so of your race.
So in this session we are going to ensure you have all of the key skills you win every touch out opportunity you have.
As at the end of the day theses series of competitions are all about who gets there hand on the wall first, and I know you are all wanting it to be City of Sunderland being the team with the most points at the end of it all as much as the other coaches and I.
So in this session we will be focusing on:
– Breath control in the final 5 metres
– Finishing with 2 hands and outstretched arms on Butterfly and Breaststroke.
– Everyone learning and knowing how many strokes they do from the flags on backstroke, to ensure everyone finishes on their back.
This is perfect opportunity to put all of the race skills learned over the past few weeks into practice.
ALL swimmers from the Junior Squads are eligible to compete. So any swimmers who were not eligible in the Junior League Squads may attend this second hour to race.
